ISO Part-Time Executive Director
The Part-Time Executive Director for Norwood Park and Recreation District (NPRD) is responsible for the overall administrative oversight, strategic planning, facilities management, and leadership of the District, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of all divisions and programs to provide safe, sustainable, and attractive recreational opportunities for the community.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Leadership and Management:
- Serves as primary point of contact for NPRD.
- Communicates and provides timely information to the Board, contractors, committees, clients, or other parties as needed.
- Represents the District at community events, meetings, and public forums.
- Takes direction from and provides advice to the Board of Directors regarding strategic direction and vision for the District.
- Manages and allocates resources (human, financial, and material) effectively.
Operational Management:
- Responsible for scheduling all events at The Livery and Oliver House (Facilities) and for responding to inquiries in a timely manner, as well as managing the facilities calendar.
- Acts as Primary point of contact, meeting with prospective clients, providing access to facilities, answering questions and reviewing the features of The Livery, yard and Oliver House.
- Functions as Event Coordinator to ensure client needs are met. Includes use and set up of Sound, Lighting, Audio, or other technology as needed/requested by clients/talent.
- Prepares invoices, collects payments, and makes deposits as needed.
- Conducts pre- and post-event inspections and communicates deficiencies appropriately.
- Maintains supplies, equipment and materials.
- Responsible for managing and updating content of NPRD Website, including Events calendar and related software.
- Ensures the safety, security, and upkeep of District facilities.
- Manages vendors, contracts and leases.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Supports the Programs & Events Manager in planning, developing and implementing recreational and arts-related programs and activities for all age groups and interests.
- Evaluate community needs and interests to ensure programs are relevant and effective.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Financial Management:
- Responsible for creating and managing the District budget, including preparing annual operating and capital budgets, and ensuring compliance with governmental filing timelines.
- Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly entries into Quickbooks, monthly bank reconciliations, Payroll submittals, payment of bills, journal entries, and monthly financial reporting.
- Monitors expenditures and ensure financial accountability.
- Identifies and secures funding opportunities, such as grants and sponsorships.
Governmental Compliance:
- Ensures compliance with all Governmental requirements including Annual Transparency notices, monthly meeting notices and minutes, election documentation, annual resolutions, annual budget timelines, CTF filings, and other filings and compliance requirements established by the State of Colorado.
Community Engagement:
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with community stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and other organizations.
- Seeks public input and feedback on recreation and arts-related programs and facilities.
- Promote the department's programs and services to the community.
